Overseen by our board of directors, we constantly strive to better serve our members and enable them to better serve their communities. Through this approach, we’ve been honored to serve many of our members for over 30 years.
Why We Do it
In 1988 we created the Ohio Plan because public entities found it very difficult to obtain cost effective and quality coverage. Over the years, our products and services have expanded and we now offer a comprehensive package that meets any governmental entity’s needs. Our board of directors includes public officials throughout the state, which allows us to understand the unique challenges public entities face and offer appropriate protection.
We collaborate with each Member to create a unique risk management profile by categorizing typical loss exposures to the Core Areas of Risk. This allows all Members, regardless of size, services, or resources to concentrate their efforts on loss control methods that matter.
The Ohio Plan provides 24/7 claims service answered by experienced claims adjusters. The Plan’s claim adjusters are focused solely on public entities and are proficient in the defenses and immunities afforded to Ohio public entities by the Ohio Revised Code.
We provide an annual renewal premium credit to Plan Members based on the Member’s consecutive years of membership, loss ration calculation and risk management practices.
