Ohio public entities that join the Ohio Plan become members in the most comprehensive risk management and management resources program in the State of Ohio. The Ohio Plan protects public entities from unexpected and adverse situations by providing them with customized management, training and resource programs to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their day-to day operations.

Risk Management

Ohio Plan Risk Management focuses on providing affordable and comprehensive property and liability insurance to Ohio public entities. Member entities are assigned a team of experts that create a program specific to their needs and that provides them with expediated and high values service levels as follows:

Risk Management and Loss Prevention Services

Each Member is provided with a risk manager responsible for identifying probable sources of risk and recommending improvement strategies
Experienced Claims Management Team

Members receive access to a 24/7 claims service. Ohio Plan’s claims adjusters are experienced and focused solely on public entities. We protect our members and are proficient in the defenses and immunities granted to Ohio public entities by the Ohio Revised Code.
Special Programs and Subsidies

Members are eligible for the Ohio Plan Safety Allowance during their initial three years of membership and prior to becoming eligible for the Ohio Plan Advantage- an annual renewal premium credit program. Members are also eligible for the Ohio Plan’s Lexipol subscription subsidy program. This program offers discounts to members who join Lexipol, which is a leading provider of risk management solutions for public safety organizations.

Management Resources

Ohio Plan Management Resources provides Members with access to customized management, training, cybersecurity, and human resource programs at no additional cost. In addition, we are available to assist members with other consultative services for special needs and projects at a member discounted rate.
