The frequency and impact of cybercrimes is rising at an alarming rate and governments at all levels are being increasingly targeted. The Ohio Plan is committed to providing a simple, yet comprehensive approach for our members, which is aimed at reducing your entity’s risk of becoming a victim of a cybercrime.
Beginning in April, the Ohio Plan will be providing our cyber security services exclusively through the Ohio Plan’s Member Only Portal – the Ohio Plan Resource Partner. This will allow members to access these services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, when it is most convenient for you and your employees, without having to leave your office or computer.
As in the past, members will be given a reminder notice annually, coinciding with your entity’s plan renewal, to complete their free annual cyber security assessment. Upon completion, members will receive the following:
Access to a wide variety of cyber security resources and information has also been significantly enhanced on the cybersecurity portal including:
In order to receive the full Plan Advantage credit, Ohio Plan members are required to complete the cyber security assessment process. The Plan Advantage is an annual premium credit program available to Ohio Plan members. The renewal premium credit is based on a variety of different factors related to the member, including years of membership, loss ratio calculation, and risk management practices – such as the cybersecurity assessment.
The following activities will need to be completed to receive Plan Advantage credit:
STEP 1: Cyber Security Member Assessment Questionnaire – Each member shall designate one person (IT Manager or similar) to complete the questionnaire which should take less than one hour to complete. The person designated to take the assessment will receive an email with credentials to log into the assessment platform. While completing the questionnaire you will find industry best practices to help you make changes to your cybersecurity strategy. If you would like to see all of those in one place you can access a printable version here.
STEP 2: Cyber Security Employee Training Modules – Everyone in the member’s organization who uses a computer is recommended to view the training modules (unless the member’s organization has participated in similar training or enhanced in-house training)
STEP 3: Cyber Security Policy Builder – If your entity has not adopted a cybersecurity policy, these comprehensive templates will be helpful for assisting your entity in creating your own policies.
STEP 4: Cyber Security Member Compliance Completion Form – Once step 1-3 are complete, the member will submit the compliance completion form to obtain Plan Advantage credit.
